Well...

Not only it's plagued by technical issues (bad drawings, practically non-existent animation, scene badly fitted into canvas), but the idea itself is poorly explored and pointless. But don't let this stop you. Keep trying to improve, maybe write a script for your next animation so you can further develop your ideas and create a rich piece of work. This one, sadly, is very bad.

WiggityWagster responds:

Thanks for the advice man ill keep that in mind;)

Before I say anything on the animation itself...

... try not complaining about your previous animation's score inside your NEW animation. If you think the people who reviewed your work negatively because of your all-caps writing are morons, don't bother responding to them because it makes you sound like an even bigger moron. And making said writing flicker continuously between white and red only makes it all worse.

Now, about the animation itself. Sprite movies are nothing new, but it's been proved they can be quite good if done correctly. Unfortunately, your work lacks the creativity of a series like SF vs. MK, in which the two fighters come up with intelligent strategies to defeat each other, using every ability they have available. In your animation, they just hit each other without a lot of charm or appeal. Also, the moment where they have a blue fireball between them is overlong and cliche.

The sprites are decent enough, but your animation isn't. I could clearly spot some ugly gaps like Chun Li being thrown in the air and falling on a spot too far from where she should have landed. In short, it lacks intensity and smoothness.

But it's mildly entertaining. Just work on the animation, coreography and stop bitching in the loading screen.

GOOD FOR YOU...IM NOT EVEN COMPARING MY STUFF TO SF VS. MK...I DONT HAVE THE NECESSSARY SOFTWARE FOR THAT...IF I DO PROBABLY I CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT...AND SINCE IM USING AN OLD FLASH PROGRAM AND A CRACKED VERSION...IT HANGS ALOT...IT TAKES 3 SECONDS JUST TO PUT MY SYMBOL IN...ITS NOT MY COMPUTER TRUST ME...AND YEAH SINCE YOU SEE THE CHOPPINESS OF IT...PROBABLY ITS YOUR INTERNET WHICH IS CRAPPY...AND YEAH I CAN BITCH ANYTIME I WANT TOO...WELL I LIVE IN AMERICA SO I CAN BITCH ANYTIME I WANT TOO! LIKE GAY PEOPLE GETTING MARRIED...

Awful

Sorry, but Mario hitting a block, enemies falling from the sky and Mario defeating three of them is a terrible story. On top of that, the animation and framerate are poor and overall it's just sloppy.

Flash-Gamers responds:

You must be oblivious to my comments! I said it was a preview, so what do you expect? I'm still working on it though. So it'll be better next time.
PS- Nice run-on sentence!

Nice work

I liked your sense of humor. It's not original, but it's got good timing and decent voicework. You're also good with animating lyp-synching. On the other hand, the backgrounds weren't so great and some bits of the characters were poorly animated. But the humor kept me interested and made me smile.

boinky33 responds:

How isn't it original?

Histerically funny

I don't believe I've ever seen a flash movie with such sharp dialogue. Maybe Chris Nosal's Bad Guys. But this is just a masterpiece, easily. "Good, maybe there'll be a walking pussy instead! Maybe it'll be you!". Also, astonishing voiceovers, every single one of them.

You also have a great aesthetic sense. The camera angles, the colors and the drawing style are all attractive and well-chosen. The walking pair of tits is hilarious, and so is the mastermind, who looks all creepy and shit, but can't put together a good comeback sentence (with the glorious exception of the "walking pussy" bit).

One of the best animations I've seen in a long time.

The-Swain responds:

I've heard some comparisons to Tankmen before (not a surprise, as JohnnyUtah is one of the local artists whose style I study from the most), but I think BadGuys is much closer :D

Brilliant

As usual, Adam, you left me speechless. But I'll try to overcome that and say something anyway.

Your animation keeps getting better and better. The water and the insects (if that's what they are) are pure eye-candy. Everything in this flash is, but these are the ones that really amazed me. And the story is delightfully simple as usual, and explained purely with visuals (which takes talent). Also, the landscape changing as Bitey leaps past it is amazingly well-done.

I also enjoyed seeing old characters from previous Brackenwood stories in this flash. The flashbacks had me in stitches. Also, the idea of those bubbles that get bigger when stirred is excellent and very well executed here.

Only a minor setback (beware SPOILERS!): the ending could've been more inspired. Bigfoot could've punched the bubbles out of Bitey's mouth and then tossed him away to the sky, echoing the ending of Bitey of Brackenwood, or something similar. Just sticking Bitey's horns on the wood as he vomits the bubbles was kind of... too simple. Inconclusive. After all the grief Bitey causes to Bigfoot, Bigfoot's revenge could've been something better. But that's really a minor setback and the final score is still a much deserved ten.

Thanks for all your wonderful stuff, Adam. I'll be waiting anxiously for the next Brackenwood story (and upgrading my PC to be able to watch it :D )

chluaid responds:

Funny you should mention punching and flying through the sky, as that was almost exactly what my first storyboard had as the ending. The morrug (hugefoot) shakes Bitey and the waterlollies all inflate violently inside, turning him into an instant sphere.. then one of the waterlollies pops out of Bitey's mouth and splits like a water balloon on the morrug's face. Angry, the morrug boots him off into the distance.

I decided against that ending because the big guy getting revenge against Bitey seemed a little too much of a cop-out. I wanted Bitey's humiliation to be a punishment from his own body, rather than someone else.. which I figured would be even more humiliating. I do think it ends too abruptly though, so if I were to rework the ending, I'd build it up a bit more before the inevitable explosion.

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to review and don't worry about a PC upgrade for the next Brackenwood. My plans are to make shorter chronicles that play reasonably in the browser.

Excellent...

I love the way you're telling the story. You don't feel this urge to put action scenes in every part... you tell the story how you want it, with your pacing. And if every part will come out as often as this...

The architecture of the castle is truly amazing, and you use stick figures very well. Only improvement I'd like to see? Voice-overs. They're a little forced.

Keep it up!

Get-lost responds:

Thanks

Pure Stupidity

Misteroo, do you think you're the only artist that receives fan-mail in NG? Joseph Blanchette, Richie and John Zirbes, Luis Castanon, all of them also receive fan-mail and they don't send revenge animations to NG. Fan-mail is a consequence an artist has to stand. Offending his fans is the most stupid thing to do, and you just did it. You wanna get rid of the fan-mail? Finish the goddamn movie! You undoubtably ARE taking a hell of a lotta time to make Arfenhouse 3. Playing with your fans like this is absolutely despicable. I'm not your fan, and I'm feeling infuriated.

Grow up, man. And finish Arfenhouse 3, that's the best thing you can do so this animation can be forgotten soon.

Misteroo responds:

But I DID finish the 3rd movie. You just WATCHED IT and REVIEWED IT. What more do you want??

I'm a Brazilian from Rio de Janeiro. Hope you enjoy my flash-movies.
